Last week Nedap Energy Systems presented the Self-use solution (die Eigenverbrauchslösung) at the Intersolar 2012 in Munich. The new Dynamic Feed-in Limiter, energy management and the Li-ion ready products have been presented to the public.
With the new features, the self-use solution of the PowerRouter becomes the ideal solution for your home energy management. Optimize the use of your self-generated energy by using the energy when and where you need it.
Cooperation with Saft, Leclanché and HOPPECKE
Nedap announces cooperation with Saft, Leclanché for addressing the market of energy storage systems in which the PowerRouter will be compatible with Li-ion batteries. “For managing your own energy, battery storage is a necessity. Nedap’s PowerRouter combined with state of the art battery solutions will allow the users to reduce their energy bill significantly by using their own energy at best”, according to Joep Thomassen, Nedap Energy Systems.

The Dynamic Feed-in Limiter
With the Dynamic Feed-in Limiter for the PowerRouter, Nedap offers a unique solution to diminish the consequences of the new German EEG 2012 law for the system owner. The Dynamic Feed-in Limiter controls the flow of generated solar energy, so that it is used directly to feed connected loads. Only the surplus of energy is fed to the grid. A sensor measures the actual grid current, which enables the PowerRouter to comply with the German 70% reduction law at the point of feed-in instead of the output of the inverter. Thus, by controlling the output power in an intelligent way, reducing the output power of the inverter and loss of revenues can be avoided.

Ready for Li-ion batteries
The PowerRouter is now compatible with lithium-ion battery technology. Because of the high energy density, high efficiency and long life expectancy of lithium-ion batteries, combining this technology with the PowerRouter will result in an even higher use of self-generated energy (self-use) and a lower cost of ownership.
