Caren
Caren is a website which enables you to organise and simplify care for a family member. The site brings together all the parties involved. On the one side, the family and friends (family caregivers), and on the other, the care institution and home care staff. The site also holds all the relevant information, such as important telephone numbers, medicines and appointments.
Get other family members and friends involved as well
This enables the family to see, for example, whether their mother has already been dressed, had something to eat, and which actions are coming up. If there are any questions, you contact the appropriate staff member.
In the day-to-day practical situation, care is often handled by a child. Using Caren, you can get other family members and friends involved as well. For example, imagine that your mother needs to go to hospital tomorrow, but you don't have time to take her there. Then you put a message on Caren asking who would be able to take her. All the family members and friends are then sent a message by phone, email, or an iPhone App, so that everybody knows exactly what the situation is.
Caren is a free service, which is in line with the social development whereby family caregivers are taking an increasing responsibility. In view of increasing costs in the healthcare sector, this development is unavoidable. Caren has been operational since 2010. A team at Nedap Healthcare is working full-time on new developments and improvements.
