At Nedap Security, you will work on the design of innovative access control products. Our readers, controllers and interfaces are used worldwide to provide access to buildings and sites. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be involved in the development process from the initial idea onwards. You will draw up mechanical specifications based on functionality, quality, manufacturability and cost price. You will develop concepts, design and model the product in 3D. You will be responsible for validating the designs in prototype iterations and will supervise and validate the transfer to tooling, production and assembly. You radiate passion and enthusiasm and know how to convey this to your colleagues.

You take the lead in drawing up mechanical specifications.

Your team

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the R&D Team for Devices within Nedap Security. The team consists of hardware, firmware and embedded engineers. This multidisciplinary team works on the development and maintenance of our Devices. In this role, you will also be in frequent contact with the Product Owner, Supplier Operations, Compliance and, where necessary, other functions within the organisation. In addition, you will be in frequent contact with external technology partners and suppliers, representing Nedap's interests from a mechanical perspective.

The salary range for this role is between € 3.800 and € 5.000 gross per month based on full-time employment (38 hours) and depends on relevant knowledge and experience. Required skills

As a Mechanical Engineer, you are constantly interested in new technical possibilities in the mechanical field, but you keep your feet on the ground. You have a good feel for design and industrial design and can find the optimum balance between the required functionality, quality, manufacturability and cost price. You are confident and know how to communicate your concepts and ideas.

You recognise yourself in the following profile: 
  • Education: You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial product design or similar.
  • Work experience: You have at least 2 years of relevant work experience as a Mechanical Engineer or similar.
  • Nice to have: Good knowledge of SolidWorks and PLM software is an advantage. Experience with product design for outdoor use and in industrial environments is an advantage.
  • Language skills: You are fluent in Dutch and English.
Good to know: You are available for 32–38 hours per week. Hybrid (partly remote) working is common at Nedap. In consultation with your colleagues, you coordinate your working hours to achieve a good work-life balance. We would like to see you at our campus in Groenlo at least two days a week.
