Data Engineer

Groenlo, Netherlands
32 - 38 hrs
€ 4.500 - € 6.000

What are you going to do?

Every day, millions of access events are generated by our solutions: who accessed which location, when, and under what conditions. This data is highly sensitive and valuable. Today, it is primarily used for operational purposes.

We see a clear opportunity to unlock much more value from it. By building a secure, scalable and future-proof data platform, we enable analytics, insights and new data-driven product capabilities that strengthen our solutions and create additional value for our customers.

As a Data Engineer at Nedap in Security, you will play a key role in building this foundation. You will work hands-on on designing and implementing the platform, collaborating closely with product teams and architects to turn complex, high-volume data streams into reliable and reusable data products.

This is not an isolated effort. Together with data engineers in other business units, you will help build a shared data platform that forms the foundation for how data is used across Nedap. You won’t be maintaining legacy systems. You will be building the foundation for how Nedap works with data going forward.

Your responsibilities

Define and implement the data platform for Security, as part of a shared data platform used across Nedap, aligning on architecture and principles with other business units.

Build robust batch and streaming pipelines to process large volumes of access control data with high reliability and performance.

Transform operational data into well-defined, reusable data products with clear ownership, structure and usage across teams.

Build platform capabilities such as validation, monitoring and lineage that make data quality visible and traceable, and support teams in improving it through clear data contracts and ownership.

Work with highly sensitive access data and design the platform to support fine-grained access control, data lineage and clear ownership, ensuring compliance is embedded in data flows from the start.

Help define best practices for data engineering, including architecture, testing, deployment and observability.

Work closely with engineers in other business units to build and evolve the shared data platform and align on standards and ways of working.

Your team

You will join Nedap in Security, where we develop access control and physical identity solutions used by leading organizations worldwide. You will be part of the development organization within the Security business unit, working closely with software engineers, architects and product managers. Together with the teams that produce the data, you will build data products that are powered by a shared data platform used across Nedap.

You will have significant ownership within Security, while collaborating with data engineers across Nedap to shape and evolve the shared data platform and its standards. We work in autonomous teams with a strong sense of ownership. We value clear thinking, constructive discussions and long-term impact over short-term gains.
