RF Engineer
Groenlo, Netherlands
32 - 38 hrs
€ 3.900 - € 5.000
What are you going to do?
“Work on RF and RFID hardware used in stores worldwide. From antenna design and PCB layout to measurement, compliance and production: you make sure our hardware performs reliably in practice.”
At Nedap Retail, we build technology that helps retailers operate smarter. Using RFID technology, we create solutions for loss prevention, self-checkout, and real-time inventory visibility that need to perform exactly as promised in busy retail environments.
As an RF Engineer, you will work on products that help retailers maintain control over inventory, security, and store operations. This requires RF hardware that is precise enough for the application, robust enough for the shop floor, and scalable enough for global deployment. You will design and improve readers, antennas, UHF/RFID circuits, PCB layouts, and signal performance. Not from the sidelines, but throughout the entire development process: from defining the technical direction to prototyping, testing, certification, and production.
We are looking for someone who understands RF technology and stays practical. Someone who measures, asks the right questions, supports decisions with evidence and takes ownership in a compact hardware team.

Your responsibilities
Design schematics and PCB layouts for new hardware developments.
Develop new hardware solutions using state-of-the-art RFID technology, advanced processing platforms, and signal processing techniques.
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary R&D team to translate customer needs into scalable and future-proof products.
Your team
You will join the hardware team within Nedap Retail, working alongside electronics, mechanical, and RF engineers. The team is part of the Devices team within R&D, together with firmware and product engineering. Collaboration with firmware engineers is intensive, as together you build products that need to perform reliably in retail environments.
The hardware team is compact, which means your contribution is immediately visible. You will have the freedom to make technical decisions, introduce your own ideas, and take ownership of your work. You will also collaborate closely with product management, product compliance, procurement, and production partners, including our EMS and prototyping partners.
Our international character and the diversity of people and cultures make us unique. It is the combination of ideas, expertise, and energy that enables us to create Technology for Life: technology that helps people become more successful and happier in their professional lives. We do this from our headquarters, the Nedap Campus in Groenlo, and from 11 locations around the world. Founded in 1929, Nedap has been listed on Euronext Amsterdam since 1947.
