Technical Support Engineer

Vilvoorde, Belgium
38 - 38 hrs
Hybrid

What are you going to do?

Every day, people rely on access control to enter buildings safely. At Nedap, we help organizations manage who has access to which places, and when. When technical questions arise, our partners and customers need someone who listens, investigates, and helps them move forward.
As a Technical Support Engineer, your main focus is resolving support tickets and training customers. You work with networks, software, and hardware to understand what is happening and find a solution. By sharing your knowledge, you also help customers use our access control solutions with greater confidence and handle more questions themselves.
You combine technical investigation with clear communication. Whether you are working on a ticket or delivering training, you help people understand the technology and take the next step.

Your responsibilities

Investigate technical questions from partners and customers, both by phone and through support tickets, identify their causes, and follow through to a solution while keeping people informed.

Prepare and deliver practical training that helps customers understand our solutions and work with them independently.

Explore how networks, IT infrastructure, software, and hardware interact to get to the root of technical issues.

Turn recurring questions and solutions into clear documentation that customers, partners, and colleagues can use.

Test new functionality and share insights from support cases to help colleagues identify improvements.

Your team

You will be part of our international Technical Support Centre, working with colleagues in Belgium, at our headquarters in the Netherlands, and across other locations worldwide. You exchange insights from support cases, share approaches to troubleshooting, and learn from each other’s technical experience.
Our way of working is open and built on trust. You have the freedom to organize your work and take responsibility for your cases, with colleagues to turn to when a challenge needs another perspective. You work from our office in Vilvoorde at least one day a week, creating time to connect and work together in person.

Our offer

What's in it for you?

We have the ambition, and the opportunity to shape the future. And we need people with the drive to turn that into meaningful impact. You get the chance to contribute to something truly unique, alongside more than 1,000 driven and like-minded colleagues.
From day one, you help us fulfill our purpose: Technology for Life. The way you grow, take initiative, and deliver impact helps bring that purpose to life. We shape what's next. Together.
In this role, you can expect:
  • Compensation aligned with your knowledge, experience, and responsibilities.
  • A company car for business and private use.
  • Space and trust to organize your work and take ownership of technical challenges.
  • Professional growth through customer cases, training, knowledge sharing, and opportunities to explore solution consulting.
  • Room for your ideas to improve how we support partners and customers.

Required skills

You enjoy figuring out why something is not working and helping someone understand the solution. You ask focused questions, work through technical details, and explain your findings clearly. During training, you adapt your explanation to the people in front of you. When several tickets need attention, you set priorities and keep customers informed.
You bring:
  • Relevant experience: Around three years of experience in technical support or a similar technical role;
  • Networking skills: Practical experience working with networks, including TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, routers, and ports, and an understanding of how these interact with software, hardware, and IT infrastructure;
  • Communication and training skills: The ability to explain technical topics clearly, both when resolving a ticket and when training customers;
  • Language skills: A good command of French and English, spoken and written. Dutch is an advantage;
  • Technical education: A relevant technical bachelor’s degree.
Experience in security or access control is an advantage.
We preferably fill this role on a full-time basis. You work from our office in Vilvoorde at least one day a week and are willing to travel domestically and internationally to support partners and customers. Limited participation in an on-call rotation is also part of the role.
Beyond your experience, it is important to us that you identify with our culture and values and are eager to contribute to our purpose of creating Technology for Life.
