Summary

Start with a tailored implementation plan

After choosing RFID and iD Cloud, retailers work with a dedicated implementation consultant who guides the project and acts as a central point of contact. A shared project plan is tailored to the retailer’s needs, scope and chosen capabilities.

Early workshops cover in-store processes and the IT landscape. This creates a clear view of how RFID will work in practice, while integration specialists support the APIs, developer tools and technical decisions throughout the project.

Build adoption through a champion network

Training works best when knowledge is cascaded through the organisation. Master Champions learn first, followed by regional and local champions, each group preparing the next.

This train-the-trainer approach builds confidence close to the stores and gives teams trusted people to turn to as they begin using iD Cloud.

Plan resources, tagging and change management

Rollout speed depends on resource availability, particularly across IT, store operations and training. With strong preparation and a scalable champion model, the rollout phase can move quickly; the wider timeline still depends on the retailer’s context and readiness.

Tagging choices also matter. Well-planned in-store tag-up and distribution-centre tagging can reduce work in stores. The same preparation is important when changing RFID vendor: integrations and training need attention, while existing hardware, labels and RFID familiarity provide a head start.

Keep alignment and support beyond go-live

Common risks are limited resources, poor alignment between departments and low engagement. Regular project-team meetings, clear ownership on the retailer side and a compelling engagement plan help keep decisions and milestones on track.

After deployment, the relationship continues with Customer Success and specialist support. Together, they help retailers expand features, solve operational and technical challenges, and keep building value from RFID over time.
